Red Velvet

Hi...

This was my creation last weekend; Red Velvet Cup Cakes with cream cheese frosting.

This naughty-sounding Red Velvet cake is essentially a type of rich chocolate-based cakes with a very distinctive deep red colour (hence, the name red velvet come forth). According to wikipedia, the Red Velvet is classic dessert that originates from the Southern United States, where it was ceremoniously hailed as the "Chocolate Cake of the South".

And apparently, the devine Miss Oprah Winfrey is a fan too..

..as she made it known to public of her preference for the Red Velvet cake in her "O" magazine.

My creation of course, comes in various cup-cakes sizes. But a full sizes cake is also available upon request.

This is my debut posting, so I think it is only fair to my blog reader if I introduce myself properly.

My name is Harlina Mohamad Haron. I shared my life with Azalarry Abdullah, with whom I am blessed with three beautiful children (2 boys and a baby girl).

I am a lawyer by training, and still is, practicing my trade in a law firm in downtown KL. I always know that I have a knack for cooking, something which I incidently enjoy doing on my free time. I count Martha Stewart as my idol, and despite of my dayjob and 3 kids in tow, I still manage to attend pastry classes on weekends just so that I get my cakes right!

I think the time is high for me to take what I've always count as a hobby to the next level. A pattiserie is always on the draw card but for now, I am pretty much content with my home-based operation, selling made-to-order cakes and sweet treats. I infuse honesty in my baking as I always try give my best efford to all my dear customers.

So I would like to welcome you to Fairy Cakes by Lina. Perhaps you can give me the benefit of the doubt by placing an order now :)
